nDreams Synapse Art Blast

With Synapse releasing in early July, we’re still basking in the afterglow of its launch and the positivity of our community.

It’s been a wholly unique and thrilling project right from the outset: an exclusive shooter for PlayStation VR 2, made in close collaboration with Sony, and therefore one of the first to be built around a bunch of next-gen VR features.

We quickly settled upon a monochromatic art style that looks great, but was also a brave move from the get-go and a style rarely seen in VR. It was an exciting challenge to make the whole game almost entirely black and white, with vibrant pops of neon colour, to create a world that could amplify the player’s experience.

The team behind Synapse is relatively small but absolutely fantastic, and all of us put a lot of passion and hard work into making the game look and feel fresh – something we could own. My heartfelt thanks go to everyone on the team who made it possible for us to create a PS VR2 best-seller.

I’m incredibly grateful to have been a part of making this special game, alongside this team, and I hope you all enjoy this glimpse of Synapse’s artistic journey.
