Comic Art Week Returns to ArtStation

Comic Art Week is back for a third time on ArtStation, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! From October 3rd to 7th 2022, join us for a celebration of all things comic art. You can look forward to exclusive live Q&A events on ArtStation Blogs, exciting educational releases, and more.

In addition to joining our Q&As, you can also take part in Comic Art Week by keeping your portfolio up to date. Make sure you’ve properly tagged your comic art pieces to help the ArtStation community discover your work!


FAQ

How do I upload my work to the Comic Art Channel?

When uploading or editing a project from your portfolio manager, scroll down to the “Subject Matter” section of the page. Add “Comic Art” to your project with the search bar. After you publish, your work will be added to the Comic Art Channel.

How do I follow the Comic Art Channel?

Go here and click follow in the top right corner of the “Comic Art” button in the channel row to add it to your homepage.

How do I participate in live Q&A events?

Live Event Schedule

October 4th 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. ET: Ann Maulina

Ann Maulina is a comic book artist from Indonesia. She is the author of webcomic Raruurien. Some past projects she’s worked on include Horizon Zero Dawn: Sunhawk (Titan Comics/Guerilla Games), Shadow Warzone (DC Comics), Women of Marvel (Marvel Comics), and Black Widow Infinity Comic (Marvel Comics)



October 5th 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. ET: Meghan Hetrick

⁠Meghan has been a professional illustrator for almost a decade, focusing mainly on comic book covers and interiors. Recently she’s dabbled in the Hollywood side of things, doing work for HBO Max, Boss Beauties, and a few other unannounced projects. She’s likely most well known for a very specific anatomical tutorial, her color work, and the ever-growing number of pets she has.



October 5th 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. ET: Yinfaowei Harrison & Shofela Coker

Harrison is an Environment Concept Artist based in Lagos, Nigeria and has just finished colouring the comic New Masters alongside Coker Coop. He is a visual development artist at Marvel Studios and has worked with A44 Games and Netflix. He worked with Shof Coker on Triggerfish & Disney’s Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire.


Shof is an Illustrator/Art Director born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He tells stories in comics and animation that have an emphasis on the part of the world he grew up in. Past projects include Outcasts of Jupiter, and the 2017 animated documentary, Liyana, which won several awards including Best Documentary at the LA Film Festival and Grand Prize at the New York Children’s Film Festival. In 2022, he published New Masters, a sci-fi adventure comic with Image comics. He is also currently directing an animated short film with Triggerfish and Disney titled Moremi.



October 6th 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. ET: Marguerite Sauvage

Marguerite is a Montreal-based French illustrator and writer with extensive experience in comics and animation for clients like Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, and Ubisoft. She’s known for her expressive characters and fashionable designs, as well as her stand-out color palettes.



October 7th 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. ET: Joey Vazquez

Joey specializes in Comics, Card Art, and Character design. He has done work on a number of titles for Marvel Comics, worked on card art for Fantasy Flight games Marvel champions roleplaying game, and is currently working as a concept artist at Marvel Studios on disney+’s animated series such as What if, Marvel Zombies, and Spider-man freshman year.



October 7th 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. ET: Roberto Ricci

Roberto is a comic artist who has been working for almost 20 years with French publishers such as Futuropolis, Dargaud, Les Humanoïdes Associés and more and only recently for the U.S. for Dark Horse. In parallel to this career he works as an illustrator, storyboard and concept artist for Deep Silver, Volta, CD Projekt Red and others. Some of his projects: Cyberpunk 2077 ‘Blackout,’ Urban, Les Ames d’helios, Moksha, Le Coeur de l’ombre, Dead Island 2.
