Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed Crossover Stories Art Blast
Assassin’s Creed Crossover Stories is the first cross-game project on the franchise, led by Ubisoft Quebec Studio in close collaboration with the Ubisoft Montreal Studio. It consists of two stories that explore the ties between the heroes of AC Odyssey and AC Valhalla, featuring new islands to explore as well as a rich story line: Those Who Are Treasured is included in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, while the other, A Fated Encounter, is in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
In A Fated Encounter, we focused on the beautiful Scottish Isle of Skye and its unique topology, amazing natural landmarks, and lush green hills. The role of the Art Team was to really get that feeling of small early Viking and Pict settlements that were used mostly as transition hubs between Norway and the south of England. We worked together to create an immersive experience that shows the amazing landscapes this location has to offer. We opted for a rainier and more oppressive atmosphere which supports the mystery that unfolds in the story.
In complete contrast, we replicated the island of Korfu with its beautiful beaches, clear blue ocean, high lush hills and cliffs in Those Who Are Treasured. With the Art Team, we worked together to give it a classic vacation feel – and who doesn’t need a sunny escape in these times? Players will be able to visit the city of Korkyrapolis, its naval shipyard, and explore every corner of the beautiful and unique locations we built. It was a such a great experience for the team to dive back into the world of Odyssey and reconnect with some of its most beloved characters.
