Since 2007, Syn Studio has been helping passionate students master the fundamentals and learn high level design and digital illustration skills. The intensive Concept Art Diploma program, currently in its third year, is ideally suited for aspiring concept artists who already possess solid foundation skills and are interested in dedicating 100% of their time to following an intensive concept art training schedule. The teaching faculty comprises of senior level concept artists and art directors from the film and video game industries who will be helping the students in their concept art journey.

Syn Studio’s elite 18 month Concept Art Diploma Program is designed to help students learn the skills necessary to meet the demands and become successful in the highly competitive concept art industry. Over roughly the first 9 months of the program, students undergo rigorous training to master their fundamentals, developing high level design and illustration skills using traditional art tools, Photoshop and a couple of different 3D programs. The second half of the program focuses on applying those fundamentals to concept art assignments, while learning advanced digital techniques and cutting edge pipelines so students’ deliverables match the exacting standards of the concept art industry. During this phase, the students take the role of the junior concept artists and the teachers act as their art directors, providing them with critical on-the-job skills and helping them develop a professional-level concept art portfolio.

Syn Studio’s Concept Art Diploma Program was created after a thorough analysis of the changing industry trends, a careful study of similar top art programs as well consultations with world’s top educators and concept artists, most notably Scott Robertson. The program prepares students to be industry-ready upon graduation through its unique hands-on course structure. In addition, Syn Studio provides its students with additional opportunities to network with senior concept artists, leads and art directors and get noticed by companies during supplementary workshops, masterclasses and other industry related events.
