Gnomon School of Visual Effects has announced Stan Lee’s Cosmic Crusaders: An Evening with Legend VR, a free event hosted by Will Maurer (VP of VR and VFX at Legend 3D), Ryan Cummins (VR Supervisor) and Riley Franklin (CG Environment Artist) in Los Angeles on Thursday July 28th at 7:30PM at the Gnomon Campus.
Legend VR, the virtual reality division of Legend 3D, specializes in on-set and live-event 360-degree capture. From storyboarding and 360-degree shooting to stitching, conversion and final color/formatting for multiple devices, Legend VR is experienced at full-scale solutions for the most demanding of VR needs. On the heels of Comic-Con 2016, Will Maurer, VP of VR and VFX at Legend 3D, will describe how the Cosmic Crusaders project came into their studio and will discuss his experiences working with Stan Lee on the project. VR Supervisor, Ryan Cummins, will share technical insights into his work and detail some of the challenges involved in a VR pipeline, while Riley Franklin, CG Environment Artist and Gnomon Alumna, will reveal how she created the CG environment. The crew will also share a sneak peek at how they filmed Stan Lee at the Gnomon Stage for their Comic-Con launch campaign in June 2016.
The panel will be joined by Dane Smith, Producer and Gnomon Instructor, who will moderate an informative Q&A session with the Legend VR guests while inviting audience participation. There will also be opportunities for attendees to try the VR experience in person.
If you’re a student, hobbyist or professional interested in creating content for VR experiences, do not miss this opportunity to experience the event live at the Gnomon campus. Entry is by RSVP only, and seating is first-come-first-served. The event will also be available on Livestream for those who can’t attend in person*.
* You do not need to RSVP if you intend to watch the Livestream only.
