Mediatonic Fall Guys Season 5 Art Blast

Having dodged the swinging scythes of season 2, the team set the beans skidding down icy slopes of season 3 only to ascend again, slow-motion into the neon future of season 4. Now they have landed deep in the heart of their own jungle adventure, braving angry pink rhinos, a maze of traps and unexpectedly big frogs… all the while dressed up like palm trees and pirates with a fruit for a head.

Since the release of the first season of Fall Guys, the team has changed and grown immensely. Pre-lockdown, the entire Fall Guys dev team could probably have been seated on a single bus… and now you’d need a bus just for the art team alone… maybe even two. There are new faces gracing our Zoom calls on the regular and as such, the limits of what we can create in the Fall Guys world is ever rapidly expanding. Sometimes, it feels, as quickly and as frighteningly as the balloon frogs. The team in their numbers have worked hard to roll out each new season, creating art to get excited about that steers us all on and drives us to make a theme even more fun than the last. On levels concept art we dive onto the new courses and obstacles laid out by the designers and are in wonder at the ever imaginative costumes and character crossovers delivered regularly by the costume team. We then all collectively marvel at how these great ideas become a reality in the hands of the 3D team, season after season. The game benefits from the reach of so many talented individuals across all departments and from our art corner, it is wonderful to have a chance to show off our work and everything we’ve discovered through designing Season 5; rhinos, plants with faces, beloved Junglebook characters, fruit pirates and the discovery of Pegwin’s long-lost tropical cousin.

I am proud of everything the team has made this season (and every season!) and am excited that we get to feature it here.
