Countdown to Trojan Horse was a Unicorn 2016 and THU TV!

Trojan Horse Was a Unicorn (THU) 2016 starts on September 20th with an expanded lineup of amazing artists, new experiences, and some of the world’s biggest studios looking to recruit new talent. The five-day event will bring artists from all around the world to Tróia in Portugal to share a truly unique experience. An entire week sharing in the knowledge of artists who have produced many of our childhood memories, and who are willing to tell you how they survived the ups and downs.

My first THU last year was a revelation. I have been to many art conferences over more than a decade, and I have seen the same format used many times before where big name speakers are on stage for an hour, and then they disappear off to their next commitment leaving more questions than answers. When Scott Ross, and then THU’s founder Andre Luis took to the stage and explained the “rules'” for THU, I knew we weren’t in Kansas any more. We not only had access to every speaker for the whole week, but they were there for the same reason as us—to talk about their passions, and to recharge their creativity with fellow artists.

Every day from morning to morning, something inspiring, interesting, hilarious, or intriguing was going on within the confines of the Tróia resort, and each day you made new friends who you felt an immediate connection to because you’d maxed out on inspiration together. While 600 artists will be lucky enough to be in Tróia for THU, the revolution will also be televised with THU TV again which will show you even more than one set of eyeballs and ears can take in. In addition to speakers’ presentations and interviews with the Tribe, THU TV will continue the unmissable series from last year including Sketchbook, Speed Painting Lab, and Speed Sculpting Lab.

As big fans of THU and THU TV, we’re very excited to bring the experience to 50 ArtStation members at the lowest price available anywhere. The first 50 artists to take up this offer will receive a 30% discount to THU TV Volume 2 by using the coupon code: Artstation30_THUTV. Regular tickets are €100. THU TV is an amazing learning resource beyond just tutorials and techniques. It’s television made for artists by artists.

The THU 2016 Knights (speakers) include: Alex Alvarez, Bobby Chiu, Brenda Chapman, Carlos Ortega, Claire Wendling, Dan Cooper, David Lee Strasberg, Doug Chiang, Gerald Brom, Irene Gallo, José Alves da Silva, Kevin Lima, Kevin Margo, Loic Zimmermann, Marc Simonetti, Mark Dippy, Mark ‘Crash’ McCreery, Matt Winston, Mikki Willis, Mr. Concept Art, Nicolas ‘Sparth’ Bouvier, Patrick Faulwetter, Ralph Eggleston, Raphaël Lacoste, Robh Ruppel, Ruan Jia, Ryan Woodward, Serge Birault and Shelly Wan!
