The Coalition & Splash Damage Gears Tactics Art Blast
I’ve been working with the team at Splash Damage for close to four years now on Gears Tactics. I spent a lot of time at the studio with the artists and the art direction team of Tim Appleby and Malte Langheim. They’re a great group of people and I was consistently impressed with the talent and dedication they all brought to the project.
The ongoing challenge of Gears Tactics has been to create something that is undeniably Gears even when seen through the lens of a new game genre, but also brings something new and exciting to the experience. For Gears Tactics we had the privilege to be able to play in the classic era of the franchise before the events of the first Gears of War and tell a new story with characters and locations that are new to the audience.
I want to thank everyone at Splash Damage and The Coalition who made Gears Tactics possible. I am extremely proud to share with you some of the fantastic work the artists put into this game. I couldn’t be happier with what they were able to achieve!
