With nearly 2,500 registrations and artists from 110 countries, the NVIDIA Metropia 2042 Challenge brought creators together to visualize a futuristic world surrounded by cutting-edge technology.

In our biggest 3D challenge to date, Metropia 2042 asked artists to imagine a future where technological advancements have benefited humanity. From sustainable cities to innovative vehicles, creators shared their vision of a society surrounded by AI, robotics, autonomous vehicles, augmented reality and environmental protections.

Artists designed, 3D modeled and rendered submissions in the categories of Cities of the Future, Characters of the Future, Vehicles of the Future and Interiors of the Future. An all-star judging panel took on the difficult task to sort through the very strong entries in all categories. Huge thanks to: Vitaly Bulgarov (Black Sky Symmetry, Inc.), Maciej Kuciara (LearnSquared), Devon Fay (Riot Games), Ian Spriggs (ImageEngine), Jaime Jasso (Bonfire Studios), Joy Lea (ARWall), Glenn Melenhorst (Illoura), and Krystal Sae Eua (Weta Digital) and the challenge hosts Mathew O’Halloran (Ubisoft Massive)
