Riot Games League of Legends: Sylas Art Blast

With the recent release of our newest champion Sylas and an update to our beloved twin sister duo, Kayle and Morgan, the first quarter of 2019 has been truly amazing.
Today, you’ll see a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Sylas, the Unshackled. When creating a new champion, our mission is to bring different fantasy genres to life for all players. Our goal during development was to create an inspiring prisoner who fits a darker and edgier thematic that is currently missing in Demacia.
Production was similar to previous champions but Sylas has a never-before implemented ability to steal the ultimates of other champions. This required significantly more collaboration of artists with other disciplines, such as engineering, which was unique to the project.
We are excited to share the passion, dedication and unique craftsmanship of the League of Legends’ champion art team with the Artstation community. We hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes of what it took to bring our champions to our players.
