Upcoming Changes on ArtStation Marketplace and Prints
Hi everyone! Sharing an update on some changes our buyers and sellers may notice on ArtStation Marketplace and Prints. If that’s not you, this won’t have any impact on your experience on ArtStation.
Last year we began implementing changes on ArtStation to comply with the Digital Services Act (DSA), a European Union consumer protection law that requires online marketplaces to disclose information about certain sellers and products. We’re nearing the compliance deadline and wanted to provide some information on changes that some of you will see on ArtStation soon.
The DSA requires any seller, including ArtStation Marketplace and Prints sellers, to identify themselves as either a Trader or a Non-Trader. If they do not complete this self-identification process, they will not be able to distribute their ArtStation products to customers in the European Union.
Starting in February 2025, ArtStation Marketplace and Prints buyers located in the European Union will not be able to purchase or acquire products from sellers who have not completed the self-identification process. If you are shopping from the European Union, you will still be able to view all product pages (for instance, via a direct link), but you may not have the option to acquire certain products. Instead, you will see a note saying that a product is not available in your region.
If you are shopping from outside the EU, your experience on the ArtStation will not be affected by these DSA-related changes and you will continue to have access to all available products.
Regardless of where you’re located, you will continue to have access to any products that you have already purchased.
