Art Streamers Across Twitch Rally to Feed Hungry Kids this Week

From April 25th to May 2nd, the US based charity No Kid Hungry is inviting artists to stream their art on Twitch to raise money and help feed hungry kids across America. The campaign, The Bright Future of a Blank Canvas, invites artists of all types, from digital artists to body painters to traditional artists and more to join. As an added incentive, expect prizes from ArtStation, Wacom and Graphixly, as well as other event supporters.

Art is a fundamental part of changing the world for the better. The world needs artists because they can give different perspectives on the world and help imagine new possibilities. This event is a celebration of that power, and that power truly matters when our impact is as large as 10 meals for every $1.

In addition, the event will feature a 24/7 livestream component focused on a 3D printer printing various models on No Kid Hungry’s Twitch account. Can you guess what they are? The stream will also feature a running tally of the total amount raised throughout the campaign.

About No Kid Hungry

1 in 6 kids in the United States may face hunger this year and it’s No Kid Hungry’s mission to help them. With every dollar raised, No Kid Hungry can provide up to 10 meals to children in need. Streaming artists can help envision a brighter future for hungry kids by signing up to participate and raise funds here.

According to the USDA, more than 11 million children in the United States live in “food insecure” homes. That phrase may sound mild, but it means that those households don’t have enough food for every family member to lead a healthy life.

And that number dates from before the coronavirus pandemic. Today, projections show that 18 million children could face hunger this year.

One of the most effective ways to help American families and children is through US federal nutrition programs. Some of the nutrition programs you may be familiar with are SNAP, WIC and the national school lunch program. These are critical lifelines for families in need.

No Kid Hungry supports these important programs, though they focus their efforts on other federal programs that they know can make an enormous difference for hungry kids, such as the school breakfast program, the national summer meals program and the afterschool meals program.
