Syn Studio Online Art Classes

Syn Studio’s Online Art Classes ($360 USD – for a limited time) are 10 weeks long, with a 3 hour class every week plus a special private online area to upload assignments, communicate with teachers and students and receive feedback. In addition to the online classes, students will also have access to the video recordings so they can rewatch and learn at their own pace and receive personalized video feedback from the instructor.

Students can choose from around 20 different online classes such as Online Drawing Classes, Online Concept Art and Illustration Classes and the Comic Book Making class.

Their teachers are currently working on some of the most exciting film, television and video game projects in production. They are constantly updating Syn Studio’s curricula to give students the most cutting edge techniques and pipelines that they use everyday on the front lines of the industry. This industry specific training provides students with the freshest and most relevant skills so they can become successful concept artists and illustrators.

Some of the exciting online art classes in Summer 2020 include:

• Intro to Concept Art taught by Boris Andreev (veteran concept artist with credits including Netflix’s The Dragon Prince, Watership Down and Thomas & Friends)
• Composition, Lighting and Illustration taught by Donald Caron (veteran illustrator with credits in the Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs and Splinter Cell Universes)
• Digital Sketching for Production taught by Christian de Massy (veteran concept artist with credits including X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, Snow White and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button)

Patrick J. Jones Figure Drawing Workshop

As a special treat this Summer, Syn Studio will be conducting a 3-week Online Figure Drawing Workshop with Master Artist Patrick J. Jones, an award winning artist, author and teacher. Patrick has worked as an illustrator for book covers by famous authors such as H.G. Wells and as a concept artist for Lucasfilm and Disney Studios on titles such as Peter Pan.

During this workshop, students will learn Patrick’s unique approach to drawing the figure based on structure, gesture and anatomy, titled “The Anatomy of Style.” The tools and methods taught during the workshop will strengthen the students’ understanding of the figure drawing process, enabling them to create stronger, more tightly rendered and visually appealing stylistic figure drawings.

Syn Studio Art Bootcamp

Finally, Syn Studio has also rebranded its Full Time Intensive Portfolio Prep Program and launched it under a new name – Art Bootcamp. It is a package deal of five 10-week classes from our Online Art Classes page plus exclusive industry related activities. 

Art Bootcamp lets you create your own flexible schedule with the classes you want, customized for your needs. And as an Art Bootcamp student, you will have access to many exclusive activities where you can improve your art and connect with students and professional artists in the industry.
