UNHIDE Conference: Latin America’s largest digital art event



In September 2019, Sao Paulo city will host UNHIDE Conference, the largest Digital Art festival in Latin America. The event will bring together professionals and speakers from the world’s largest studios and entertainment companies from games, movies, advertising, architecture, and design. Its second edition will take place September 27-29 at the Palácio de Convenções Anhembi and is expecting to welcome more than 5,000 people and 50 talented speakers.

The event will also make room for the first Digital Art Awards Festival: The UNHIDE Awards 2019. A stellar jury featuring Carlos Saldanha, Blue Sky Director and directors from BBDO, ILM, Marvel, Gray, FCB, Havas and DDB will judge the best commercial and personal artworks of the year.

Confirmed guests include Mike Winkelman, aka Beeple, a 3D pro famous for his Everyday series/ Erik Johansson, and Jama Jurabaev, Disney’s live-action Art Director at Aladdin who also recently worked for The Mandalorian.

The Brazilian team includes MPC’s Fellipe Beckman who was responsible for leading Detective Pikachu’s live-action environment team. Lisieux Calandro, who is currently working on the visual effects of Maleficent 2, is also confirmed at the event. Kris Costa is another Brazilian who has been outstanding abroad and returns to Brazil to speak about his career. He is the Creature Modeling Lead at the giant Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and has worked on productions such as The Avengers, Transformers 2 and 3, Star Wars, King Kong, and many more.

The festival is geared towards image and film studios, independent professionals and students from a wide range of digital arts and advertising disciplines. It will be filled with lectures in the main auditorium with a capacity of 2,500 people and 15 parallel workshops spread throughout the auditoriums of the venue. There will also be open lectures at the sponsors’ booths and three large parties held at the end of each day.

The event will also feature recruitment agency ,The Focus, who will be there scouting for artists to work at Technicolor’s VFX studios, MPC Film, Mr X and The Mill. All the attendees will have the opportunity to have their art evaluated by some of the biggest studios in pre-scheduled Portfolio Review sections.


UNHIDE was born as a passionate project by the directors of Lightfarm Studios, an internationally awarded visual arts production company.  With the goal of educating and uniting the art community, Milton Menezes and Rafael Vallaperde created an online school for art called UNHIDE School, where world famous artists can teach their craft.
