See Gnomon School’s Mind-blowing 2017 Student Reel & Best of Term

It’s no secret that the Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood has produced countless talented and well trained graduates who now work on major blockbuster films. Watch their 2017 Student Reel above and be blown away by the awesome stuff they’ve been working on.

You should also check out their Best of Term showcase and see all the top work produced for Summer 2016. The grand prize winner was Santhosh Koneru in the Short Film category for the cinematic trailer titled ‘The Legion’ that you see at the beginning of the reel. You can check out his full reel and breakdown he posted on ArtStation.

Allan Bernardo, the grand prize winner from the previous term for his charming 3D Environment Exterior and additional prize for his 3D Interior of a Gatsby library was awarded this time with the Best Lighting for the ‘Entrance to the Manor’ below.

Most of the other winners are also on ArtStation.  The prize for best 3D character went to David Tyler Young for his recreation of the Mirror scene from The Phantom of the Opera, based on an original concept by Celine Kim.

The 2016 summer semester also had a lot of amazing environment artwork. Using Maya, Substance Painter, Unreal Engine and ZBrush, Danilo Paulo created a really cool ‘Steampunk Dragon Door Environment’ that won him the prize for Games Environment.  Check out the reel for it here
