Filmmaking and Directing with Loic Zimmermann & Louie Tucci

Gnomon is hosting a screening of and discussion about Granulara short film directed by Loic Zimmermann at 8pm on Thursday March 24 at Gnomon School in Hollywood. Granular is an intense noir picture, based on a poem by the film’s protagonist, Louie Tucci, which documents a lucid dream experience shared between several characters. Created as a personal project around the demands of a full-time job in VFX production, everything from scheduling talent, the script, the shoot, editing, handling the voiceover, working with new cameras and lenses, had to be tackled skillfully and efficiently. The conversation will go into the details of filming and directing independent movies and discuss the importance of taking a leap of faith to create work that is personally fulfilling, as well as how to organize life in a way that allows time to dedicate to personal work. Loic’s extensive background in 3D, concept art, photography, art direction, and VFX supervision, plays an essential part in the creation of his beautiful films. The event will also include a preview of a new film that Loic is working on in his free time.

The screening is free and open to the public. RSVP today. Seating is on a first-come-first-served basis. Loic will be available for book and print signings at the end of the event. If you can’t make it to Hollywood, be sure to follow Gnomon on Livestream to tune in online. Questions can be pitched to the speakers on Twitter during the live event using #gnomon.

A Livestream of the event will be available to watch on Gnomon’s Livestream.
