Check out CGMA’s Fall Term Artist Highlights

CG Master Academy has updated its gallery with artist highlights drawn from its recently completed Fall term—all  professional artists broadening their skillsets and ArtStation members.

David Aucourt, a professional 3D character artist, and lead character artist for TAT Studio producing its first animated feature film has taken a range of CGMA classes: “It’s hard to name just one favourite CGMA class. So far Anatomy for Production and Character Casting were my favourites—I learned a lot with them. There’s also the Character Creation for Games class where you apply all the artistic knowledge from previous classes into a production piece which is important to have in a portfolio.”

Abdelrahman Kubisi, a 2D/3D digital artist, sculpting statues and collectibles has taken a number of CGMA classes including Production ModelingAnatomy for Production 1 & 2Creature Anatomy and Character Casting.

“I’ve always been interested in human anatomy”, explains Abdelrahman. “Ever since I learned how to draw I have always been interested in drawing muscles and big guys, so the anatomy class was the best for me. I’d like to give a shout out to the amazing anatomy instructor at CGMA Christian Bull. Not only he is an amazing anatomy instructor, but also a very nice person, and he’s helped with my anatomy work even after we finished the class.”

Marcus Leal, a professional 3D Artist with 8 years of experience has worked for game studios, advertising agencies and architectural companies. His recent CGMA classes include Production ModelingAnatomy for Production 1 & 2Creature AnatomyCharacter Casting, and High End Character Creation for Games 1 & 2.

“CGMA offered a program that I was having a hard time finding”, explains Marcus. “That is, understanding the big picture of a Character Development workflow. Having a solid workflow is the key to give you the freedom to be a better artist because it eliminates the uncertainty of whether your character will be useful in a production pipeline.”

Gabriel Chiang is a 3D Generalist and Industrial Designer, specializing in characters art. His recent CGMA classes have included Production ModelingAnatomy for Production 1 & 2Creature AnatomyCharacter Casting, and High End Character Creation for Games 1 & 2.

Gabriel professes that Anatomy Class was his favorite: “You can never have enough of it. It is fundamental and super important for a character artist. Christian Bull was an outstanding instructor, showing a lot of passion and motivation in every class. Teaching anatomy with real models was awesome and the content and time he gave in his feedback, was great too. I think that if I had the chance to take it again, I will still keep learning.”
