THU 2016 Golden Ticket Challenge Winners!

For the the fourth year in a row Trojan Horse was a Unicorn has held its Golden Ticket Challenge to determine the last Tribe Member to attend the Trojan Horse was a Unicorn festival. This year’s theme was “THU Reborn”, and 710 artists took up the challenge to create a submission that captured the essence of THU. We’d like to thank all the artists who participated in the challenge, and congratulate them on their creative efforts.

“It’s incredible to see how much the THU Golden Ticket challenge has grown in terms of entrants and the quality of the works,” explained THU Founder Andre Luis. “Bringing more artists into the THU family is our goal, and the challenge has helped us to convey what THU is about and what we are trying achieve for our community. We’d also like to thank ArtStation for their help with the Golden Ticket challenge. We were extremely happy with the ArtStation Challenge platform. In every way it is the future of art challenges.”

We’re very pleased to announce the winners and honourable mentions for the THU Golden Ticket Challenge as judged by Jose Alves da Silva, Andre Luis, Victor Hugo Queiroz, Marc Simonetta, Loic Zimmermann, and Scott Ross.

“When we launched this year’s theme ‘THU Reborn’ we were conscious that it was a harder challenge than previous years,” admitted challenge host Jose Alves da Silva. “How to depict a feeling or emotion rather than something more direct as a character or scene? And once again the challengers did not disappoint! It was a pleasure to see how all these artists tackled the theme and an honour to pick the winners among the passionate work of so many colleagues.”

“I’m still in a state of amazement about all this,” admits Grace Liu. “ I joined the contest to push myself and felt like I learned a lot from working on the entry, which was already a satisfactory result for me. It’s unbelievable that I’d be able to attend a global event, visit a new country, and get a much-needed hardware upgrade all at once. I’m extremely grateful for all the hard work put in by the organizers as well as the feedback and support offered by the community during the contest.’
